Fertility
Brief
A cultural sustainability project: design furniture that carries Turkish cultural heritage into a contemporary home. We took the Fertility motif as the starting point. Branching from a shared root, it stands for the bond between family members, growing together and passing heritage from one generation to the next.
The motif appears in all three pieces, so the home reads as a place of belonging and not only of living.
Pieces
- Bookcase. A house shaped frame in brass coated aluminium with walnut shelves. The branching motif runs through the back panels. 1760 × 708 × 325 mm.
- Lounge chair and ottoman. A soft, rounded seat on a slim brass coated aluminium structure.
- Foldable side table. The top is inspired by the traditional rahle (book stand), but its two panels fold separately. Half open it holds a tablet, fully open it holds a book.
